Cost of Attendance
Academic Year 2026-27
Cost of Attendance
The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of the total cost to attend SUNY Geneseo as a full-time undergraduate student for one academic year. The COA is used to determine eligibility for financial aid and is not your actual bill.
Your actual charges will vary based on factors such as your housing assignment, meal plan, and course enrollment.
The Cost of Attendance includes:
Indirect (estimated) costs – Expenses that are not billed by the College but are part of the overall cost of attending, including books and supplies, personal expenses, and transportation.
Direct (billed) costs – Charges that appear on your student bill, such as tuition, fees, housing, and meal plans.
For the 2026–27 academic year, estimated indirect expenses are approximately $3,696. These costs are included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes but are not charges you will owe to SUNY Geneseo.
Student Billing
Your student bill includes only your direct (billed) costs for the semester, such as tuition, fees, housing, and your meal plan.
- Fall semester bills are typically available in July and are due in August.
- Spring semester bills are typically available in December and are due in January.
For billing deadlines, payment options, and other account information, please visit the Student Accounts Office website.
Note: First-year students are required to have a notebook computer. If you wish to purchase a laptop from Geneseo or elsewhere, this cost could be added to your total cost of attendance. You will be referred to a private education loan to cover the cost. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.
