National Hazing Prevention Week
National Hazing Prevention Week at Geneseo
According to the report, Hazing in View: College Students at Risk (Allan & Madden, 2008), more than half of college students involved in clubs, teams, and organizations experience hazing and nearly half (47%) of students have experienced hazing prior to coming to college. In order to educate the entire Geneseo community about the harm of hazing, the College has scheduled a variety of educational programs and activities.
The message of the week is simple and clear: hazing has no place in the Geneseo community. Funding for the week is being provided by The Center for Community, College Union & Activities, Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation, Office of Greek Affairs and the Division of Student & Campus Life.
