It’s a Banner Year at Geneseo for Student Fulbright Awards

SUNY Geneseo is experiencing a banner year for Fulbright Awards with the selection of a record four honorees – three grant recipients and one alternate – from six Geneseo applications. All recipients received English teaching assistantships (ETA) and will be teaching English part-time to non-native English-speakers, while also completing projects of the own part-time and serving as cultural ambassadors for the United States.

Students Shatter Relay for Life Fundraising Record

SUNY Geneseo students raised a record $171,000 in Saturday’s 10th annual Relay for Life, a signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society (ACS) that helps support cancer research and support services for cancer patients. The event raised more than $131,000 last year.

College Recognizes Commitment to Service and Volunteerism

SUNY Geneseo recognized individual students and student organizations, a faculty member and community partners with 2015 Volunteer and Service Awards recently during the college’s annual volunteer and service awards dinner. Entrepreneurship Teams Prevail at NYS Regional Business Plan Competition

Teams from SUNY Geneseo’s entrepreneurship program won six of the 12 awards presented last night at the regional semifinals of the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) in Rochester. The six teams will advance to the statewide competition in Albany April 24, where they will compete with finalists from nine other Regional Economic Development Council zones.

Thomas Kilcullen Named Police Chief at SUNY Geneseo

Thomas J. Kilcullen has been named chief of the SUNY Geneseo University Police Department. Kilcullen came to Geneseo as interim police chief in January 2014 after serving in the University at Albany Police Department, where he rose to the position of deputy chief of police and chief investigator.
