Order of Omega

The National Order of Omega is an honor society recognizing outstanding academic achievement in the undergraduate Greek community. The Nu Alpha Chapter at SUNY Geneseo was founded in Spring 1993 and has since inducted over 500 members. The Order of Omega was founded on four basic principles:

• To recognize those in Greeks organizations who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-fraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment;
• To bring together outstanding Greek life students to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs.
• To bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness;
• To help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.
• Applications for Order of Omega will open for the Spring Semester on March 1st, 2024. Eligible students include Greek-affiliated students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years, who have a GPA at or above the all-Greek average of 3.14
