Assistant Vice President for Administration & Controller
This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and Administration in a senior leader capacity. As the college’s Controller, this position has responsibility for campus finance and auditing needs. It regularly advises campus community members on a broad range of risk and compliance matters. The position serves as the campus internal control and compliance officer and oversees the Purchasing (including Campus Mail, Duplicating & Property Control) and Student Accounts offices. This role is responsible for various Finance functions; including responsibility for the financial operations of the Geneseo Foundation and serving as the Operations Manager for the Research Foundation. The position often participates in campus planning and regularly works on risk management activities in collaboration with colleagues from across campus. It serves as a key liaison with System Administration and other State internal control officials and departments, including serving as a primary contact with Counsel. The position oversees day-to-day Foundation finances, as well as financial statement preparation and is directly responsible for accurate preparation of pledges receivable, gain/loss, spending and other journal entries, audits and other compliance work as needed. It is also responsible for ensuring that campus FOIL requests are responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
