SUNY Geneseo Launches New, Redesigned Website

SUNY Geneseo today launched a new, redesigned version of its website (geneseo.edu), combining a clean, visually-powerful and content-rich interface to afford a positive user experience. The revamped site was a collaboration between the Office of College Communications and Marketing, and the Department of Computing and Information Technology (CIT) with significant support from the Milne Library web team. It’s the College’s first major website update in eight years.

Four undergraduate students from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, are involved this summer in the SUNY Geneseo School of Education’s “Soaring Stars” learning program for elementary-age students in rural areas.

Innovative Instruction Technology Grants to Benefit Campus

Five SUNY Geneseo faculty members and Milne Library will be implementing three Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) that SUNY has announced for the 2016-17 school year. Geneseo’s awards were among 35 selected across the SUNY system from 78 proposals. The competitive grants fund campus innovations and initiatives with potential to be replicated throughout the SUNY system and benefit students and faculty members worldwide.

Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park Officially Opens

SUNY Geneseo President Denise A. Battles was among those cutting the ribbon this week to officially open the Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park. Letchworth is a short distance southwest of Geneseo and includes an educational partnership with the college for students and faculty to continue year-round teaching and research with the park.

Twelve SUNY Geneseo students and one alumnus are serving as ambassadors in the college’s Center for Inquiry, Discovery and Development (CIDD) for the 2016-17 school year. CIDD programming encourages students to question past traditional answers, to create new or different solutions to local and/or global issues.
