Student Account Holds

Student Account Holds are prompts notifying students that they need to take action to complete a college process. Taking action to remove the Hold prevents delays with registering for classes, while others may restrict functions such as limiting which classes a student can take. Examples of situations where holds may be placed on accounts include: an overdue visit with your academic advisor, academic warning or probation, transcripts have not been received, and overdue tuition balance.

Please look up the correct code and then carefully read about the type of hold on your account.

Accept Financial Responsibility (FR)

Information: Each semester that you are registered at SUNY Geneseo you are required to confirm your registration and accept financial responsibility for the charges that are assessed to your student account (tuition, fees, room, board, etc.). You must complete this confirmation regardless of whether you have already paid your college bill or have sufficient aid to cover your bill. The process takes only a few minutes to complete and assures you are aware of your rights and responsibilities in regard to your college costs. Failure to complete will delay receipt of financial aid and could cause a hold to be placed on your account. Please review your financial responsibility and confirm your registration.
