Scott Ewanow ’06 has been appointed chief of the University Police Department (UPD) at SUNY Geneseo. The chief oversees all operational aspects of the department, including the uniformed patrol operations, investigations, and administrative components, including parking and transportation. Ewanow will assume the position of UPD's chief on July 7.
The Geneseo Foundation and SUNY Geneseo recognized three donors for their exceptional generosity and support of the College at Donors of Distinction ceremonies on April 26 and 29. President Denise Battles presented each donor with a clock and unveiled a plaque on the Donors of Distinction Wall and Garden outside Wadsworth auditorium. The plaques pay tribute to those whose lifetime giving to the College exceeds $1 million.
On Saturday, May 22, SUNY Geneseo held its 156th commencement with students and families attending in person for the first time in three years. The event recognized each of the nearly 1,100 undergraduates who received their degrees.

Queenie Adams ’22, Lily Devlen ’23, and Isabella Prince ’23 will study abroad this summer in Ghana after winning Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships during the 2022–23 national competition. The State Department award financially assists US undergraduates of limited financial means in pursuing academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad to better prepare them to assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world.
Each semester, SUNY Geneseo produces Gandy Dancer, a student-run literary journal filled with fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art from students across the 64-campus SUNY system.
This fall, SUNY Geneseo will introduce Geneseo Education for a Connected World, an undergraduate curriculum designed to prepare all students for success in the 21st century.
