Geneseo's annual service event for first-year and transfer students
Geneseo students have an outstanding record of community engagement and volunteer service. As noted in the College's mission statement, "the entire college community works together to develop socially responsible citizens with skills and values important to the pursuit of an enriched life and success in the world."
Knights Serve is a program designed for first-year and transfer students who will begin their studies at Geneseo in the fall. This year, Knights Serve will give students the opportunity to volunteer in their residence halls engaging in service activities like writing letters to veterans and active duty service members, create cards for hospitalized youth, make introduction postcards that will be shared with local community members, and tap into your artistic side by making artwork about your lived experience. Students will spend their first Saturday morning on campus in small groups engaging in these activities while taking time to get to know one another and begin building community one person at a time.
Packets of materials and instructions will be distributed throughout the residence halls on the morning of Saturday, August 29 for this year's event! Completed projects will be picked up and sent to their respective destinations.
Please email email@example.com with any questions. We look forward to starting off the year with you in service to others!
This program is coordinated by the Office of Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement.
