Student Athlete Mentors are volunteers who are currently involved in Geneseo athletics. The role of a mentor is to provide insight, recommendations, and counseling for student athletes. The SARC Mentors are available through office hours and by appointment in the Union room 114.
Morgan Michalski '22
Head Office Manager
Morgan is a senior Communication major from Buffalo, New York. Morgan is a member of the Women's Volleyball team at Geneseo and was also an Orientation Leader during the summer of 2019 and 2020. You can sometimes find her in the campus mailroom checking in packages, say hi if you see her! She is grateful to be a part of a program that brings the athletic community together and promotes all the wonderful resources Geneseo has to offer.

Women's Swimming and Diving
Meghan is a senior business administration major with a minor in marketing and political science from Hilton, NY. She is a part of the women's swimming and diving team and swims distance freestyle. She is excited to be able to help so many other student athletes to be able to succeed academically and athletically at Geneseo.
Fun Fact: My summer job is at a nursery that has an ice cream shop!
Owen Frank '23
Outreach Project Manager
Owen is a junior biology major on the pre-vet track from Grafton, Massachusetts. He is a member of the Geneseo Men's Soccer team. Owen is excited to meet new student-athletes and help them in whatever way he can. He hopes to help students better both their academic and athletic standing.
Fun fact: He is both an English and American citizen.
Hannah Sullivan '22
First-Year Mentor Program Manager
Hannah is a senior English and Adolescent Education major with an Edgar Fellows and Literature Concentration / Minors in Communication and Edgar Fellows Program from Marlboro, NY. Along with being a midfielder on the Women’s Soccer team, she is also the vice president of English Immersion Group and a member of Phi Eta Sigma, the first year honor society, and Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society. She is looking forward to meeting other student-athletes and helping them find a balance between their academic and athletic careers at Geneseo!

Emily Abbati '23
Track & Field
Emily is a junior geology major on the track & field team. As a SAM she would like to be a person that underclassmen can look to for absolutely anything. She had a good but interesting transition from high school sports to the collegiate level and would love to help others through this exciting transition.
Fun Fact: favorite drink is unsweetened iced tea!
Stephanie Afonso '22
Stephanie is a senior chemistry major and Human Development minor from Commack, NY. She is a member of the Softball team at Geneseo. She is in the
Chemistry Honor Society and Phi Delta Epsilon. She is excited to be a resource to student athletes who need it and be able to form new relationships to her fellow student athletes.
Fun Fact: I shadowed in the operating room at a hospital for two weeks and saw live surgery.
Sean Beaver '22
Sean is a senior Political Science Major from Westchester, New York. He is a member of Geneseo Men’s Soccer Team, a representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma, the first year honor society. He is looking forward to helping and connecting with other student athletes at Geneseo.

Jeremy Contreras '22
Jeremy is a senior majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Business Studies from Smithtown, NY located on Long Island. He is a member of the men’s soccer team here at Geneseo as well as being involved in the actuary club and Phi Eta Sigma. Jeremy is very excited to help other student athletes deal with the rigors that come with being an athlete at Geneseo and be an aid to anyone that needs help.

Caroline is a junior majoring in math adolescent education. She is on the lacrosse team and is excited to develop her leadership skills more on the staff.

Emily Haber '23
Emily is a junior Communication major on the Journalism and Media track with a minor in Applied Conflict Management from Long Island, New York. She is a member of the women’s volleyball team along with being on the executive board for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Emily is extremely excited to guide and mentor other student athletes and help them in any way possible.

Taylor Hansen '23
Taylor is a sophomore Biology Major with an Edgar Fellows minor from Norwich, New York. She is a member of the Women’s Basketball Team at Geneseo. She is excited to meet other student-athletes and do whatever she can to help them be successful at Geneseo, both athletically and academically!

Alex is a senior biology major with a human development and math minor from Deer Park, NY. He is a freestyle sprinter on the Geneseo Men’s Swimming and Diving team. He is also a part of USAEC and biology research. Alex is eager to help other student-athletes find their way around the many resources that Geneseo has to offer, and help them build connections on campus!

Colleen Kennedy '22
Colleen is a senior economics and political science double major from East Greenbush, New York. Along with being on the Women's Lacrosse team, Colleen is the president of Women in Business, a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Club Ice Hockey and Student Athletic Advisory Council. She is excited to be a part of the Student Athlete Resource Center to help other athletes and to get more involved with the campus and all that it has to offer.

Lauren Kluck '22
Women's Track & Field
Lauren is senior with a psychology major and a minor in biology. She is on the track & field team and she is a part of the pre-dental club. She is eager to connect athletes to different resources on campus.
She spends her summers working at a marina getting to talk to people from all over the country traveling on their boats.

Kelly is a sophomore with a spanish adolescent education major. She is on the women's basketball team and is also in SAAC. She really enjoyed her experience in the SAM FAM program last year and wants to connect to other first-year athletes to have the experience she had.
She's related to the character Sam Healy from the TV show "Orange is the New Black".
Megan Palmer '22
Women's Swimming and Diving
Megan is a senior Childhood/Special Education major with an English concentration from Fairport, NY. She is a butterflier and backstroker on the Women’s Swimming and Diving team, and is also a representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Her favorite aspect of the Student Athlete Resource Center is that it serves as a ground that all athletes have in common, which will help foster interwoven connections among sports teams. She can’t wait to be a part of the community, and help develop such relationships!
Fun fact: Megan is Icelandic and has been to Iceland to visit family that lives there

Emma is a sophomore with a biology major on the physical therapy track. She is also on the field hockey team. She participated in the SAM FAM program last year and found it so helpful to her success that she wants to be able to do that for other freshmen athletes as well!

Lauren Sposili '23
Lauren is a junior Sociomedical Sciences major with a Sociology minor from Clifton Park, NY. She is a distance freestyler and breaststroker on the Geneseo Women’s Swimming and Diving team, along with being a secretary on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Her favorite aspect about the Student Athlete Resource Center is how it serves as a great environment to help other student-athletes keep a strong balance between both academics and athletics. Lauren is excited to be a part of such a great program on campus!
Fun Fact: Lauren has family that lives all throughout Norway and has visited them twice.
Leah VanDerwarker '23
Leah is a junior Childhood Education/Special Education major with a concentration in Math from South Glens Falls, NY which is in the foothills of the Adirondacks. She is a member of the Geneseo softball team. Leah is very excited to make connections with other student athletes and to be able to help wherever she can.
She's hiked one of the scariest hikes in America, called Angels landing in Zion National Park this past summer.
