Friday Knight Alumni Spotlight Q&A

Tell us about yourself. Where you live now, career, and/or family news. What have you been up to since you left Geneseo?
I currently live in South Florida and I am an award winning underwater photographer, Shark diver, and I run a Medical Marijuana Analytical Laboratory. After a few years as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, the chance to bring the skills I learned at Geneseo to the emerging cannabis space was a great match.

What motivates you to work hard?
After battling years of video game addiction, I feel a duty to myself and my family to perform. Real life is outside.

What trait do you like most about yourself?
I've spent quite some time working on mindfulness.

Who are your heroes in real life?
"Her Deepness" Dr. Sylvia Earle

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about getting people hyped for a greener (or bluer!), more just, and verdant world. Its easy to forget that the trees and seas are our life support system, there are no backups.

Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous?
Some of my family should certainly be.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to and why?
I would travel back to 2012 and purchase more bitcoin; the best time to be alive is today.

What kitchen appliance do you use every day?
I've become so addicted to my air fryer, that I put one in my office break room.

Who is your favorite author?
All of Susan Casey's books have been great, I especially enjoyed "The Wave"

What was your favorite class or professor at Geneseo?
I loved my time in Biochemistry with Dr. Harold Hoops, I use what I learned almost daily!
