Budding tree in front of the gazebo on Geneseo's campus

Friday Knight Alumni Spotlight Q&A

Tell us about yourself. Where you live now, career, and/or family news. What have you been up to since you left Geneseo?
I’m an Emergency and Musculoskeletal Radiologist living in Los Angeles. I graduated from Meharry medical college in Nashville in 2005 after graduating Geneseo, and subsequently went on to do my residency and Los Angeles in New Orleans at Tulane university.

What is the best thing about your current job?
I get to work at one of the busiest trauma centers in the country working with some of the best and most dedicated physicians anywhere.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I've lived in a lot of places and I’ve liked most of them but I think my favorite is New Orleans. More importantly I really hated living in Cincinnati. Their chili is wrong.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
“Believes in science not your feelings”

Do you collect anything?
Handmade Japanese chefs knives

What is your favorite family tradition?
Christmas Eve Chinese hotpot

What fashion or trend do you hope makes a comeback?
For the last two decades I’ve worn scrubs 80 percent of the time, and shorts and a tee shirt the rest of the time, so I’m wildly unaware of current or past fashion trends.

What is your favorite fast-food chain?
In and Out

What is your favorite movie and why?
Roadhouse, because it creates an amazing parallel universe where bouncers are famous and people drive monster trucks around like regular cars.

What is your favorite Geneseo memory?
Living upstairs from Kelly’s because not a lot of bars will let you in wearing your pajamas and slippers but Kelly’s would.
