Voice Services Policy Disclosure for Faculty & Staff

Scope

This document applies to faculty and staff users of SUNY Geneseo owned voice services and equipment.

Disclosure

Users of SUNY Geneseo owned voice services and equipment (telephones, cellular phones, voice mail, VoWiFi, VoIP, etc.) must understand and comply with the Campus Telephone Service Provisioning and E911 Compliance Procedure. In accordance with the policy, campus telephone services are to be used for official business related activity only.

By using voice services, you agree to comply with all rules, regulations, and policies of SUNY Geneseo and any applicable local, state, federal and international laws, guidelines and regulations. This responsibility exists regardless of what monitoring mechanisms may be in place. Any employee assigned a voice service who fails to comply with the SUNY Geneseo voice services policy may have voice privileges suspended or revoked and may be subject to disciplinary action.

Do not consider voice services and equipment usage private. Deans, Directors, Chairs, and Secretaries receive monthly notification and have online access to telephone services bill detail for their respective departments. Their access includes the ability to monitor voice usage to determine if misuse or abuse exits and collect and remit payment from employees accordingly.

Voice services and equipment may not be used to defame, harass, intimidate or threaten any other person(s). Do not allow others to use your voice services as you will be ultimately responsible for payment of charges.
