The #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship recognizes international students who have a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding.

The State University of New York at Geneseo is proud to participate in the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship program.

Beginning Fall 2019, Geneseo will award two annual, renewable scholarships that cover a minimum of 50 percent tuition to selected international undergraduate students dedicated to advancing intercultural learning and understanding at Geneseo.

Who Can Participate?

First-year international applicants of any major that have applied to Geneseo may apply. 

Eligibility 

  • First-year international applicants of any major may apply.  International applicants are individuals who hold citizenship in a country outside the U.S. and who don't also possess U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Applicants must have graduated from or are attending a secondary school outside the U.S.
  • Applicants must demonstrate interest and initiative in promoting intercultural learning and exchange.
  • Applicants must meet the admission criteria and adhere to the admission deadlines.

How to Apply

  1. Apply for admission to SUNY Geneseo and submit all required application materials.  
  2. Complete the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship application and a 500-1000 word essay or a two-to-five minute video describing your aspirations to conduct projects, research, employment or other experience that will advance intercultural learning.

Deadline

All application materials must be submitted by December 15, 2018.  You must be officially enrolled at Geneseo and submit your deposit by May 1, 2019.
