Safe Zone Facilitators
Many faculty and staff facilitators are trainers who have undergone extensive training by Out Alliance of the Genesee Valley in order to be able to facilitate Safe Zone workshops for the rest of the college. Student facilitators may have been trained by the Out Alliance, or have enrolled in the WGST 288 Course: Exp: Safe Zone Train-the-Trainer offered every Fall semester. Safe Zone Facilitators are committed to treating everyone with the dignity and respect they are entitled to as human beings, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, gender expression, level of ability, national background or religion. These individuals are committed to educating themselves about oppression, heterosexism and homophobia, and to combating it on a personal level.
The following individuals facilitate Geneseo Safe Zone workshops for groups on or off the SUNY Geneseo campus.
