Part Time Faculty Development Awards

Call for Proposals: Academic Year 2019-2020

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is looking to provide our valuable part-time faculty members with additional professional development opportunities. This internal grant for part-time faculty will support innovative pedagogical ideas that advance the mission of the TLC providing a learning culture that values and rewards teaching, facilitates reflective dialogue about pedagogy, supports the development of teaching as a practice and a scholarly activity, invites innovation in curricular development, and encourages the creation of diverse learning environments in which all students can excel.

Thanks to the Geneseo Foundation, the Office of Sponsored Research has provided us with resources for part-time faculty members to participate in teaching-focused conferences/workshops/webinars, etc. (up to $800). In addition, funds are available for part-time faculty members to form learning communities or communities of practice to support their pedagogy. An extra service pay stipend of $500 will be awarded for each part-time faculty member learning community participant for Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.  These part-time faculty learning communities should support institutional goals including (but not limited to): classroom innovation, integrative learning, and professional development around high impact pedagogies.
