The Addiction Counseling & Prevention Program at Geneseo offers a variety of resources and services for SUNY Geneseo students.

Services
- Provide evidence-based practice in the treatment of addictive disorders
- Offer education on trauma and addiction psychopathology
- Enhance understanding of addictive family systems
- Educate students using a harm reduction model
- Create personalized addiction plans for students to address patterns and create safer strategies
Implement and evaluate prevention programming and outreach on campus - Offer support services for students impacted by a friend or loved one's addiction

Appointments and Referrals
- Individual consultations for students to discuss any addictions concerns or other mental health needs. Instructions for requesting an appointment: go.geneseo.edu/appointments
- Referrals to OASAS-approved off-campus treatment providers (for more information, see the SAMHSA website).

L.O.T.U.S. - Living Optimally Through Understanding and Support

This walk-in support group for students impacted by someone else's (family member, friend) substance use. This is a safe space for students to connect, relate over shared experiences, and begin to heal.
Day/Time: Tuesdays, 1:00 to 2:00 pm

S.M.A.R.T. - Self-Management and Recovery Training

This walk-in group is designed to provide support and assistance to students who have struggled with their substance use, either currently or in the past.
Day/Time: Fridays, 4:30 to 5:30 pm (Group starts on 9/16/22)
