The Department of Physics and Astronomy was recognized as a “thriving department” by the National Task Force on Undergraduate Physics and is ranked highly on AIP reports. It prepares students to pursue a multitude of career paths, including graduate programs in physics, engineering and related fields; and research positions in industry. Physics majors learn quantitative and analytical skills, and often participate in research at the undergraduate level.
