Geneseo Healthguards

The Healthguards are a volunteer peer health education group sponsored by Health and Counseling and supervised by the Coordinator of Health Promotion.  The mission of the Healthguard program is to enhance the health and wellbeing of SUNY Geneseo students through student-driven outreach programs focused on positive health promotion. The Geneseo Healthguard program promotes making healthy lifestyle choices and reducing risky behaviors which can negatively impact one’s health.

Healthguards present programs on campus such as Condom Bingo, Mocktail Mania, Sex Jeopardy, Dear Stress, Let's Break Up!, What is A Drink?, Stress & Relaxation, Getting A Good Night's Sleep, Healthy Relationships, Wellness Expo, and the Fitness Challenge. Healthguards also promote campus wellness resources and health awareness campaigns.

If you are interested in becoming a Healthguard, contact  Dana Minton, the Coordinator of Health Promotion, to find out about Healthguard meetings. You can also email the Healthguards directly at
