Assistant Director of Counseling Services

Welcome to Mindfulness and Yoga 4 All!
I'm Beth, also known as Dr. Beth or YogiBethC. I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) with over twenty-five years of experience in a college college setting, and I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT). With these two areas of expertise, I am able to provide a unique combination of psychological services and holistic programming.
I have had specialized competency trainings on campus with Safe Zone and ACCC as well as specialized yoga trainings in the areas of Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga Anatomy, Yoga for All, and Yoga for Healthy Aging. My office and yoga classes welcome everyone, and I emphasize mindfulness and yoga for all (bodies, abilities, ages, genders).

Mindfulness and Yoga on Campus

Take a Mindful Minute

I've developed a handout of short mindfulness breaks for Students and for Faculty (for use in the classroom). Learn more about Mindful Moment programming available through Health Promotion.

Attend a Weekly Yoga Class on Campus

I teach a weekly drop-in yoga class open to the entire Geneseo campus community (students as well as faculty/staff). Class is currently held on FRIDAYS, 12-12:45 pm in the Schrader Dance Studio (above UPD); stay tuned for FALL 2022 dates. Mats and other props are available.

Request a Mind-Body Program

Would like to arrange a program for your class, group, club, or organization?  View my mind-body programming information. I offer programs for both students and faculty, and I am available to provide programs in-person, via Zoom, or pre-recorded format (YouTube).

Try Free Yoga and Mindfulness Videos

At the start of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020, I began offering FREE at-home yoga and mindfulness videos on my YouTube channel, YogiBethC. The yoga practices are short (most are 15-30 minutes) and intended for all bodies, all abilities; the mindfulness practices are generally <10 minutes. Comment on one of my videos if there is anything you would like to see me add to my channel.

If you prefer a written practice, here's a Beginner's Yoga Sequence that I developed specifically for Geneseo students who were enrolled in the CALM mindfulness group.

Explore Mindfulness Playlists

I have curated playlists on both Spotify and YouTube specifically to assist SUNY Geneseo students with practicing breathing and other mindfulness techniques. Most are 5-15 minutes - pick 1-2 to try.

  • Spotify Mindfulness Resources - a playlist I put together on Spotify featuring short (5-12 mins) practice resources; you can also view my Yoga Music Playlists on that site
  • YouTube Mindfulness Resources - a playlist I put together on YouTube offering different types of mindfulness and basic meditation practices
