Engineering Research at SUNY Geneseo

Professor Ed Pogozelski, with a background in Mechanical Engineering, supervises many engineering-related student projects. The engineering team is currently working on an automated control system for targets and sensors in the R15 beamline in the pellertron accelerator.

Past projects include: the strength of irradiated & cryo spider dragline silk, automated parafoil design, diagnostics for equine mobility, Rapid Pneumatic Transport of Radioactive Samples (RaPToRS), Target Positioning Control in the R30 beamline, laser diffraction systems for fuel injection, stress analysis in pencil points, and creation of the “Destructicon” for balsa bridge testing.
