Whitney Brown: Clinical Psychology
Please provide a brief description of your research interests
How college students regulate (manage) their emotions and to what extent they use substances to regulate emotions. This lab focuses on the use of cannabis and alcohol, their simultaneous use, and the consequences of college students' substance use. Dr. Brown is also interested in emotional dysregulation, including difficulties in identifying and describing emotions.

In what aspects are student research assistants involved in your lab?
New research assistants will assist in the set-up of lab space, literature reviews and other support tasks. Research assistants involved in the lab long-term will participate in all aspects of the research process, including opportunities to present research at regional or national conferences.
What skills are you looking for in student research assistants?
Completion of PSYC 251/250 or currently enrolled. Conscientious, organized, motivated and intellectually curious. Strong interpersonal skills, works well with others and enjoys doing so. Interest in clinical psychology, social work, or related field. Computer savvy? A strong writer? Please apply!
