Office of the Provost
Welcome to the Office of the Provost and the Division of Academic Affairs at SUNY Geneseo.
The Academic Affairs Division is home to two schools and eighteen academic departments that offer a variety of majors, minors, concentrations, and graduate programs, taught by over 350 full- and part-time faculty, 90.7% of whom have doctoral or terminal degrees. Additionally, the Division includes a number of support units that complement our academic programs (see list below).
The Provost Office staff work with the College's administrators, faculty, staff, students, emeriti, and alumni to promote the College's mission and vision in ensuring academic excellence through a rich liberal arts education. Discover more on the College's Academics page.
We encourage you to explore our site and meet our distinguished and award-winning faculty and staff. Search our Faculty Database to learn more about the teaching and research areas of expertise of our faculty. Also, check out the list of projects and equipment that were funded by the Technology Fee, and discover what is taking place in our centers: the Center for Digital Learning, the Center for Interdisciplinary Programs, the Center for Integrative Learning, and the Center for Local and Municipal History.
Our wiki space contains a wealth of forms and valuable information for faculty and students, including our Academic Affairs organization chart, the list of our department chairs and administrative assistants, and forms and information related to term renewal, continuing appointment, and promotion; classroom policies and curriculum; and the funding request form.
Real dialogue emerging from a shared inquiry into amazing and relevant themes can produce friendships and collaborations that last a lifetime. "Ideas that Matter" is a new Geneseo initiative that invites all of us into an expansive conversation sparking our curiosity with programming throughout the academic year. Join us in exploring "Myth and Science" during the 2023-24 inaugural year.
